Warehouse and Production Assistant/Forklift operator

About the role

Our client, a trusted manufacturer and distributor of coffins, is seeking an experienced Warehouse Assistant with a current LF forklift licence for a short-term assignment in Fairfield East.

This is a physically active role involving the safe movement of large, bulky stock. You will help prepare coffins for transport and load and unload them between the factory, trolleys and delivery trucks. This is not a traditional pick-and-pack position.

What you will be doing

• Safely moving and handling empty coffins and other large, bulky stock
• Loading and unloading coffins onto and from delivery trucks
• Using trolleys and other equipment to move stock around the factory and warehouse
• Operating a forklift when required
• Preparing and organising stock for deliveries
• Assisting with workshop and warehouse clean-up
• Completing general warehouse duties as directed

What we are looking for

• A current LF forklift licence-essential
• Previous experience loading and unloading trucks
• Experience safely handling heavy, oversized or bulky items
• Good physical fitness and confidence completing repetitive manual-handling tasks
• A practical, hands-on approach and willingness to assist wherever needed
• Reliability, punctuality and a strong commitment to workplace safety
• Full availability for the duration of the assignment

What’s on offer

• Immediate start
• Monday to Friday, generally 7:00 am-3:30 pm, with some flexibility
• $35 per hour plus superannuation
• Initial two-week casual assignment, with the possibility of extension depending on workload and suitability
• Fairfield East location
