Our client, a respected provider of metal finishing and industrial services, is expanding their in-house maintenance team. We’re seeking a practical, hands-on individual with a mechanical mindset who thrives on variety and enjoys tackling repair, welding, and assembly tasks.
About the Role
This is an on-the-ground position that supports the daily upkeep and maintenance of workshop equipment and yard operations. Ideal for someone proactive, solutions-focused, and confident with tools, responsibilities will include:
- Performing basic TIG and MIG welding (Class 2 level or similar)
- Conducting mechanical repairs and general equipment maintenance
- Assembling structures, fixtures, or machinery
- Carrying out preventative and reactive maintenance
- Supporting minor fabrication work
- Ensuring a safe, clean, and organized work environment
What We’re Looking For
- Proven experience in hands-on maintenance and repair
- Competency in basic TIG/MIG welding and patching
- Mechanically inclined – able to diagnose and resolve issues
- Confident using hand tools and small machinery
- Able to follow instructions and work independently
- Physically fit, reliable, and safety-conscious
Formal trade qualifications are not required, but hands-on experience and a strong mechanical aptitude are essential
A forklift licence is advantageous but not mandatory
