We are looking for a Sales Engineer with a strong background in Business Development/Account Management who can identify opportunities, develop client relationships, and close orders, while also having the technical capability to design, quote, and deliver switchboard projects end-to-end.
This role is a hands-on Sales Engineer role combining business development, technical design, and project ownership.
You will take ownership from:
Client engagement to design & estimating, tendering through to closing and coordination with production to handover or final verification
Key Responsibilities:
Business Development & Sales
You will be able to proactively identify, pursue, and secure new business opportunities, build and grow long-term client relationships and participate in technical sales discussions and presentations to closure. Additionally, you will collaborate with our key supply partners to align component sourcing with our in-house manufacturing processes. By strengthening these external partnerships, you will play a critical role in enhancing our vertical integration and ensuring a resilient, turnkey delivery model.
Technical Design & Estimating
Your skillset to Develop industrial switchboard designs and engineering solutions is paramount with the ability to Prepare accurate costings, bill of materials, and quotations, interpret electrical drawings, specifications, and client requirements in order to prepare and submit detailed tenders
Project Ownership & Production
We are looking for a person who has the ability to see projects from sale through to manufacturing and work closely with the workshop and production team to ensure designs are translated accurately into build in order to verify that the final switchboards meet design, quality, and client expectations
Quality & Compliance
You will have a strong understanding of Australian Standards (ASNZS3000 and ASNAZS61439) and regulations to meet compliance and support quality assurance and WH&S processes along with the ability to troubleshoot technical issues during production
About You:
You are
- A Business Development Account Manager who actively seeks out and converts opportunities
- Technically strong and confident discussing switchboard design and electrical systems
- Someone who takes ownership of projects end-to-end
- Highly organised and able to track multiple jobs from quote to completion
- A clear communicator with strong spoken and written English
Required Experience
- Proven experience in switchboard sales, design, or engineering
- Strong background in estimating, quoting, and tendering
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and specifications
- Experience working with manufacturing or production teams
- Solid understanding of Australian Standards (AS/NZS)
- Demonstrated ability to win work and manage client relationships
